If your town isn't listed, call anyway. Travel distance mostly affects scheduling, and small jobs farther out are often grouped with nearby work on the same day.
Do permits work the same everywhere?
No. Permits depend on where the property sits, not on the contractor.
- Inside Bowling Green city limits, the City of Bowling Green Building Division handles permits. Its site work permit says paving plans must be approved for new driveways. See the city's permit applications page or call 270-393-3615.
- Outside city limits in Warren County, check with the county or the town where the property sits before starting a new driveway, garage slab, or building pad.
- In Scottsville, Franklin, and Glasgow, check with that city's own office, since each one sets its own rules.
Same-size replacements are often handled differently from new or widened driveways, so ask about your exact project. Everywhere in Kentucky, a call to 811 comes before digging so buried utilities get marked.
Does the ground change from town to town?
Yes, and it matters for concrete. Much of south-central Kentucky sits on karst limestone, with caves and underground drainage. Clay soil on top of it can soften after heavy rain. Some low-lying parts of Bowling Green also have shallow groundwater, which means wet soil for longer after storms.
That's why a site visit comes before any price. Two driveways the same size, one in Alvaton and one in Smiths Grove, can need different base prep depending on the soil, the slope, and where the water goes.
What kinds of jobs do we do in each area?
The work is much the same across the region:
- Driveway replacements and widening in older Bowling Green neighborhoods
- New patios and backyard extensions in newer subdivisions
- Slabs for sheds, garages, and pole barns on rural lots
- Steps, walkways, and repair work on homes of every age
See the services list for details on each one.
